Everything operators and flight departments need to know about AOG request distribution, trace documentation, and how Red Phone AOG works.
What does AOG mean in aviation?
▸
AOG stands for Aircraft On Ground. It refers to any situation where an aircraft cannot fly due to a mechanical issue, missing part, or failed component. AOG events are the highest priority in aviation maintenance — every hour down costs money and disrupts schedules.
How quickly can suppliers respond to my request?
▸
For AOG Priority requests, your broadcast goes out immediately — 24/7. Suppliers who can fulfill your requirement respond directly to you. Response speed depends on the part and which suppliers in our network carry it for your aircraft type.
What is the difference between your three service tiers?
▸
Standard ($150) — Broadcast to our supplier network for non-critical parts.
AOG Priority ($250) — Immediate 24/7 broadcast to priority networks. Suppliers with AOG capability are prioritized in your broadcast list.
Deep / Legacy Research ($500) — Extended broadcast to specialized legacy and surplus networks for obsolete or hard-to-find components.
What is FAA 8130-3 trace documentation?
▸
FAA Form 8130-3 is an Airworthiness Approval Tag certifying a part meets FAA standards. Suppliers responding to your broadcast are expected to include trace documentation — 8130-3, EASA Form 1, or operator release — in their response. We do not add unverified listings to our network.
What is a ghost listing and why does it matter?
▸
A ghost listing is a part that appears in a supplier's system but is not physically in stock. Ghost listings cause dangerous AOG delays. Our participating suppliers are expected to respond with confirmed availability — not what a system says they might have.
What information do I need to submit a request?
▸
Aircraft make/model, tail number, part number (if known), part description, and urgency level. Include condition requirements (new, overhauled, serviceable) and any approved alternates — more detail means a better broadcast match to relevant suppliers.
Do you sell parts directly?
▸
No. Red Phone AOG is an AOG request-distribution platform. We broadcast your parts request to our aviation supplier network. Suppliers respond directly to you with availability and pricing. You purchase directly from the supplier — RedPhoneAOG is not a party to the transaction.
What aircraft types do you cover?
▸
Gulfstream · Bombardier Global & Challenger · Learjet · Dassault Falcon · Cessna Citation (all series) · Embraer Phenom & Praetor · Hawker · Beechjet · Beechcraft King Air · Pilatus PC-12 · HondaJet · Legacy and out-of-production aircraft via our Deep Research tier.
Can you source parts for legacy or out-of-production aircraft?
▸
Yes. Our Deep/Legacy Research tier ($500) extends the broadcast to specialized networks covering components for aircraft no longer in production — older Learjet, Hawker, Falcon, Citation variants. Salvage yards, teardown programs, and global surplus networks are included.
How do retainer clients work?
▸
Flight departments on retainer receive fee-waived request distribution. If you have a retainer arrangement with Red Phone AOG, enter your PIN on the request form and the distribution fee is waived automatically.
How is Red Phone AOG different from PartsBase?
▸
PartsBase is a parts marketplace — it lists what suppliers say they have. Red Phone AOG broadcasts your request directly to those suppliers — and they respond to you with confirmed availability and trace documentation. If you've ever chased a PartsBase listing that turned out to be a ghost, you know why that distinction matters when your aircraft is AOG. We use PartsBase and other databases to identify who's in the market — then your request goes out to them directly.
How is Red Phone AOG different from ILS (Inventory Locator Service)?
▸
ILS (Inventory Locator Service) is one of the industry's largest parts databases — thousands of suppliers list inventory there. The problem: ILS shows you what suppliers claim to have. Red Phone AOG broadcasts your request directly to suppliers in that network — and they respond to you with confirmed availability. We cross-reference ILS, PartsBase, and direct supplier contacts to build our broadcast list, then your request reaches them simultaneously. If you've gotten a 'yes we have it' from ILS and arrived to find nothing on the shelf, broadcast-first response changes that dynamic.
Aviall says they're out of stock — what now?
▸
Aviall is a premier OEM distributor and often the first call for Citation, King Air, and other Textron/Beechcraft parts. But Aviall is one supplier — a deep one, but one. When Aviall is out or quoting days-out lead time and your aircraft is AOG right now, Red Phone AOG broadcasts your request to 200+ aviation suppliers in our network: authorized distributors, independent MROs, surplus houses, rotable exchanges, and international sources. We find who has it today.
What Textron Citation variants do you support?
▸
All of them. Textron Aviation's Citation family is one of the broadest in business aviation and we carry suppliers for every series: Citation CJ1 · CJ2 · CJ3 · CJ4 · M2 · XLS / XLS+ · Sovereign / Sovereign+ · Latitude · Longitude / Ascend · Citation X · Citation 550 · Citation 560 · Citation 650 (III / VI / VII). Textron / Cessna OEM parts, alternate approved sources, and surplus sourcing are all covered.
